Claimed probiotic drinks have a lot of good bacteria that can increase endurance and facilitate digestion. Well, in order to obtain the maximum benefit, when to consume probiotic drink this?
Research conducted by the University College London tested the bacteria content in 8 probiotic drink brand in three stages. The first is a measure of how much the content of the good bacteria, then whether the bacteria can pass through the stomach acid and last much whether the bacteria are actually located in the small intestine as advertised.

The results showed that only 1 of the 8 brand that successfully pass the third stage. Four of them did not pass the first stage, 2 did not successfully pass the acid in the stomach and 1 rest made it to the small intestine but not a significant amount of bacteria.
To that end, Dr. Simon Gaisford of the pharmaceutical division UCL said that vain consume probiotic drink if ultimately only be 'killed' by stomach acid. For that he recommends that if you really want to consume probiotic drinks, should be done on an empty stomach and not meals.
"We recommend that if you really want to consume probiotics, should be done on an empty stomach. Wake up, or a maximum of 10 minutes before a meal is the best time that the good bacteria are not killed by stomach acid and reach the small intestine," said Dr. Gaisford in the journal Beneficial Microbes.
Meanwhile Dr Rob Hicks, host of the TV program of medicine in the UK, said that the probiotic drinks along with the benefits of good bacteria is just a mere phenomenon. He doubted the benefits of probiotic drinks and consider it just a part of the ad drinks.
"Many of those who claim to useful products. In fact, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) said that there was not enough scientific evidence to prove the probiotic drinks really beneficial to health," he said.
